Introduction

This plugin gives you a sample in Samples | NetBeans Modules, in the New Project wizard. The sample is called "Hello VisualVM". When you complete the wizard, you will have the sources of Getting Started Extending VisualVM. Use the sample for troubleshooting if/when things go wrong with the tutorial. You can also use it as the starting point for your own VisualVM plugins.

When you install the plugin in VisualVM, you will have this new tab:
