Introduction

The UI Editor allows you to change the Look and Feel (LAF) of NetBeans on the fly! You can choose from a set of pre-installed LAFs and then modify individual UI properties to create your own customized NetBeans experience. You can also save your customized LAF so it's automatically applied each time you start NetBeans.

Output window colour

I don't seem to be able to find the option for changing the colour of the output window.

Edit: never mind, found it; you can just right click the output window and click settings.

A pretty good replacement for themes.xml

Netbeans used to have similar functionality that would allow you to change UI colors through themes.xml. Sadly, this stopped working a few versions ago. So it's great to have a plugin to pick up the slack.

My one complaint about it is that it's not very user friendly. No one wants to sift through all those arcane Swing UI keys. It's very tedious. Can't there be a set of options that batch changes the background, foreground etc in all components? themes.xml used to do this. E.g, you just needed to set the background color and it would change in in all components.
