Introduction

This plugin adds to NetBeans support for Cucumber. Cucumber is a tool for running automated acceptance tests written in a behavior driven development (BDD) style. You can use it to automate functional validation in a form that is easily readable and understandable to business users, developers and testers.

Wiki

Cucumber lets software development teams describe how software should behave in plain text; and this text follows some conventions and keyword specified by a syntax called Gherkin. At the moment the feature supported for this langualge are:

  • Syntax Highlighting (Colors, editable in the preference)
  • Navigation of feature files (the navigator view)
  • A palette to visually add new elements
  • Code Completion (Triggered by Ctrl+Space)
  • Code Folding (Folding on blocks like Feature, Scenario ...)
  • Code Formatting (Triggered by Alt+Shift+F)
  • Language Templates to create new .feature and .future files
  • Error hints to fix errors in the .feature files
  • Code Navigation find implementation of step definitions (and open them) in the opened projects

The project is hosted on github, click here to report a bug or make a suggestion... Enjoy, Diego.

Put "cucumber" in your plugin name

Hi there, I knew that this plug-in had recently been released as I found it here a few days ago by accident. Upon searching the netbeans site for the word "cucumber", it returned other cucumber plugins, but yours was not on the list that I could see. I can only presume the search function doesn't look at all the description text for a plug-in - but I don't know for sure!

hi there,
just verified your plugin and found that the ok and cancel of all dialog messages that appear when adding palette items such as steps, narratives, etc. do not show any meaningful text, but just "..." for both, OK and CANCEL. not sure if this is intended to be like that but it was just weird to me.
