Works in NetBeans 7.1 on Ubuntu 11.10
Wanted to comment that this DOES in fact work in NetBeans 7.1 on Ubuntu 11.10's Unity Launcher.
There are two prerequisites:
1. Plugin must be installed
2. Must add netbeans.desktop file to your path

Works no more
It worked with 7.1RC2, but on 7.1 it is bugged. See for yourself.
