This is in Netbeans 7.4 on MacOS X 10.9.2. Clicking the little lock icon does nothing. Typing in the read-only file does bring up the prompt box, but hitting "Yes" does nothing.

Change State Dialog Pop-ups When Searching Text
I'm using netbeans 7.2. When I tried to search a text on a read only file, plug-in's state change dialog popups asking for remove read only. I feels it's not necessary to popup this dialog when trying to search a text on a read only file.

good, But problems with CVS
simple, fast and useful!, but there is a big problem with cvs:
when i put stuff.java 1.15 in read-only mode and then update to 1.16, the cvs tell me that stuff.java is now in 1.16 version but the file don't contain the changes, and remain in the previous version 1.15!!, and unfortunately NetBeans does not report the changes, but they are obscured for it.

Excellent
Works as specified.. Above issues must have been fixed. The corner icon toggles the read-only state and if we just start typing on a read-only file theres a popup asking whether to change the state.
This is just perfect for me.. :) many thanks..

Error Installing
When I try to install on latest, I get this:
The plugin Editor Library is requested in version >= 2.10.1.10.2 (release version 2) but only 3.8.1.13.9 (of release version different from 2) was found.

RE: Works as advertised (kind of)
Please check the latest version 1.5. The issues you described should be fixed now. The switching icon should be more responsive now and the dialog box can be disabled in Options->Miscellaneous->File F/W Switcher.

Works as advertised (kind of)
There're several plugins that provide this feature but this one is the only one that's compatible with Netbeans 6.9.1. However, it could use some improvements:
- Every time you type in a read-only editor you have to dismiss a dialogue that prompts whether you want to edit the file. - The status bar icon doesn't always react to mouse click.
