Installed this plugin on NetBeans 6.7.1 in Mac running OSX v10.6.4. When it uploaded the latest update (March '10?) and restarted the IDE, the following message comes up -

A java.lang.NullPointerException exception has occurred. Please report this at www.netbeans.org/community/issues.html, including a copy of your messages.log file as (message ends here.)

Few suggestions

Update to 1.6 will be nice
For example, replacing ClickListener with ClickHandler and removing the following warning..
WARNING: 'com.google.gwt.dev.GWTCompiler' is deprecated and will be removed in a future release.
Use 'com.google.gwt.dev.Compiler' instead.

Update for GWT 1.6?

I tried to use the plig in for latest version of GWT but it does not work.
Are there any plants to create new version of plusin?
I tried using Eclipse but would like to stick to Netbeans at it is very user friendly and fun to use.

A few requirements

1. Provide options to create projects to create the 3 types of custom widget as opposed to a web project that will use the toolkit.

2. Provide some type of redirection based on which platform netbeans is running on to point to the platform-specific version of GWT - which is checked out into a local workspace

Issues with GWT and GXT (or other AJAX libraries)

I've been using GWT with Netbeans for a few months now. Its a mixed blessing. The basic plugin works well for just GWT, however there is a serious flaw when using GWT with GXT or any other AJAX libraries that needs to be correct: Basically you run out of heap space and there's now 'permanent' way to fix it. The work around is that every time you re-open the IDE you have to edit build-gwt.xml and increase the JVM heap space as follows:

Basically, the key line is this: which will increase the heap space. This is because the GWT compiler doesn't use the IDE's settings for these values and the default JVM heap space is only barely big enough to hold all the symbols of the GWT libraries. When you add additional libraries, you blow the heap space up. PLEASE, PLEASE fix this at some point.

cool plugin

Just install the plugin, tell it where your gwt folder is and you're ready to code with gwt. Cool plugin for those that want to use gwt and don't want to use eclipse.
