JDK 1.6 needed

I've tried to run it with NB 6.1 on JDK 1.5 - doesn't work, because method javax.swing.JTable.setFillsViewportHeight is implemented with JDK 1.6. So it should be noted in the module comments "JDK 1.6 needed", as the plugin center can also be used from Tools/Plugins within NetBeans.

Re: beansbinding

You should have Beans Binding integration module installed. This is normally available on Netbeans 6.1 Java SE installation.

Unfortunately it is not available on previous versions.

beansbinding ?

I have already installed IzPack.nbm and it went fine but when i installed NIzPack.nbm, it revealed that I do not have some org.jdesktop.beansbinding module. I downloaded the beansbinding jar file. What should I do for the next step ?

Get it working

After doing this in
CompilerConfig compiler = new CompilerConfig("/"+filename, "/"+baseDir, kind, "/"+output, this);
the plugin works.
I know this is a hack but without this i don't get it working.(on linux)
I find the plugin very very useful and hope that you continue development.
It were nice to bundle some type of docu to the plugin you could start with linking to the Docu from IzPack.
I think you could reach more users if your plugin don't require deeper understanding of izPack.

Module Source

Is it possible to add the source of the izpack module too.
I opend the nizpack-module in netbeans and get errors about missing izpack-module.
because i could solve the path problem i described in a prior-comment i would take a closer look on the modulesource to track down the problem.
Or could you give some advice how to solve the problem without patch the sources?
I try different projects included the netbeans samples and get always the "com.izforge.izpack.compiler.CompilerException: Invalid base directory:" error.
my OS is linux could that be the point?

Works this plugin on Linux OS?

i could not solved the "com.izforge.izpack.compiler.CompilerException: Invalid base directory:"
I tried different projects and always get this error, so is it possible that your plugins path calculation fails on linux?
In the generated xml file appears some windows related stuff too.

6.1 Dev

Thanks for the bug report. Used to work a few builds ago. I will upgrade to 6.1 soon. Hope to solve the problem by then.

Unfortunately it doesn't work on the current Dev Build of NB 6.1

It doesn't work under the current DEV build ("All"-Installation; Ruby, Mobile C/C++ not installed) - you get this NoClassDefFoundError when you use the menu item "Izpack Installer". Therefore I claimed for a better documentation ...

Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200804041203)
Java: 1.6.0_05; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 10.0-b19
System: Windows 2000 version 5.0 running on x86; Cp1252; de_DE (nb)

Re: Documentation

This is just a frontend to IzPack. IzPack documentation is available at

Unfortunately it doesn' work on the current Dev Build of NB 6.1

It doesn't work on NB 6.1 Dev Build (Build 200803291203), even if both package are installed:

NoClassDefFoundError: org/jdesktop/observablecollections/ObservableCollections. See

Besides this, the documentation is poor.

Re: 6.1

Works with 6.1 but as it depends on BeansBinding, IDE should have Form Editor Module(org.netbeans.modules.form) installed. This is normally available on a Java SE setup.

Thanks for the comments. All paths are calculated relative to the Project directory so please ensure that your File and Resource paths are relative. Hope this helps.

Nice plugin

thanks for the nice plugin!
But i have a little problem.if i hit the generate button of the panel i get a error like
"com.izforge.izpack.compiler.CompilerException: Invalid base directory: /home/ralf/home/ralf/jsql"
the path is invalid it should be "/home/ralf/jsql" where could i set the correct path?
